My name is Laurie. I’m French, a certified French teacher, and the founder of Frenchie Classes.
I’ve spent most of my adult life as both a language learner and an expat. I lived in England for five years and have lived in Spain for nearly four. I’ve gone through the full journey of learning English and adapting to a new culture, and I’ve done it all over again with Spanish! I know firsthand the challenges expats experience when learning a new language and handling daily situations that require clear communication with locals.
I decided to create my online school and self-paced course "Frenchie essentials" . My goal is to teach the real, everyday French spoken by natives, and to give expats the tools they need to handle daily situations with confidence.

What is the course about?
This course is designed specifically for expats who want to learn essential vocabulary for various daily situations in France. You’ll gain practical words and phrases to use at the restaurant, bakery, doctor's office, and more. Along with vocabulary sheets, you’ll be able to practice and reinforce your learning through vocabulary and listening exercises to ensure you fully memorize the content. All exercises provide immediate feedback, so you'll know if you've answered correctly or need further practice.
Who is it for?
This course is tailored for expats with a beginner (some knowledge of French) or elementary level. If you are a complete beginner or already have an advanced level of French, the course may not be suitable for you. However, you can still purchase it for future use or to review essential and specific vocabulary.

Will the teacher be there if I need help?
This course is designed for self-study, meaning you’ll be working independently at your own pace.
